To customise your settings click to select ‘Setup Filter Keys’ or press ‘Alt’ + ‘L’.
Click to select or press ‘Alt’ + ‘I’ to turn on ‘Filter Keys’, see Fig 1.
‘Tab’ to and press ‘Enter’ or click to select ‘Make the keyboard easier to use’ under Explore all settings.
Open ‘Ease of Access Center’ press ‘ Windows’ logo key + ‘U’ or click Start button ‘Control Panel’ + ‘Ease of Access’ + ‘Ease of Access Center’.
Using a mouse move the mouse pointer to the upper right hand corner of the screen, then move the pointer down to select 'Search' and enter Ease of Access in the search box and tap 'Settings' then tap 'Ease of Access Centre' from the search results.
On a touch-enabled device, swipe in from the right hand edge of the screen then tap 'Search' and enter Ease of Access in the search box and tap 'Settings' then tap 'Ease of Access Centre' from the search results.
To open the Ease of Access Centre press ‘Windows’ logo key +‘U’.
On the menu bar, choose Terminal, then clear Secure Keyboard Entry.Windows 7 and 8 - Changing keyboard settingsįilter Keys provides you with the ability to control the pace of repeated keystrokes and to slow down the acceptance of keystrokes if required, avoiding accidental keystrokes or mis-key.
To disable Secure Keyboard Entry on macOS, follow these steps: MacOS only: If enabled, the Secure Keyboard Entry option on macOS can prevent the Amazon WorkSpaces client from receiving input from the operating system. To verify and change keyboard language settings for macOS, see Type in another language on your Mac with input sources on the Apple website. To verify and change keyboard language settings for Windows, see Manage the input and display language settings in Windows 10 on the Microsoft website.
If you're using an international keyboard for a Windows WorkSpace, verify that the keyboard layout on the WorkSpace and the client match.
Disable any custom key remapping applications.
Review the documentation for your antivirus software for instructions on how to disable secure keyboard. Note: Secure keyboard configuration prevents other applications on your computer or the network from detecting and recording what you type in a particular application.
Disable any secure keyboard features in your antivirus software settings.
Reboot the WorkSpace from the Amazon WorkSpaces console.
Verify that you are using the latest Amazon WorkSpaces client.
Confirm that the keyboard works as expected when using local machine to rule out an issue with the keyboard hardware.
